Archive Transactional Documents into New or Existing Electronic Document Management Systems
Objectif Lune recently announced new feature on PlanetPress Watch. The new TIFF plug-in option seamlessly and automatically archives transactional documents (reports, invoices, checks, insurance/financial documents, etc.) to customers document management systems. Whether the EDM requires a TIFF or highly searchable PDF, PlanetPress Suite is available for archival of these typical back office applications. This newly enhanced process is set up only once, and it is automated from then on.
In four easy steps, users can now archive all of their back office documents along with all of the front office applications.
Step 1: Design the Transactional Documents (forms) in PlanetPress
Step 2: Using the new PlanetPress Watch TIFF plug-in, a TIFF is generated along with an optional PDI, or PlanetPress Image Index file, which many of the EDM systems are using today. Alternatively, for document management systems that require a PDF, PlanetPress Watch can still be configured to generate a highly searchable PDF, or a PDF and a PDI.
Step 3: Configure PlanetPress Watch to drop the newly created PDF, PDI or TIFF to a directory, which will act as a hot folder to the Electronic Document Management (EDM) system on the server.
Step 4: Configure the EDM system to watch and retrieve from this hot folder.
